Therapy for Adults and Couples in Chicago

  • Individual Therapy

I offer individual and couples therapy for adults, in person in Chicago and online across Illinois. My approach is psychodynamic, relational, and queer-affirming. Together, we'll get to the root of what's going on and build change that lasts.

    AREAS OF EXPERTISE:

Anxiety: Understand what's driving the worry, not just manage the symptoms.

Depression: Reconnect with energy, meaning, and the things that matter to you.

Identity Development: Explore who you are, including sexuality, gender, and culture, at your own pace.

Loss & Grief: Make space for loss of all kinds and find a way to carry it.

Trauma: Work through past experiences safely, without being rushed.

    Couples Therapy

I work with partners in all kinds of relationships to understand what's happening beneath the surface. Together, we'll explore the history and nature of your relationship. You'll practice communicating openly and honestly.

    AREAS OF EXPERTISE:

Communication & Trust: Learn to say what you mean and hear each other clearly.

Conflict Resolution: Break the cycle of the same fight on repeat.

Infidelity & Repair: Make sense of what happened and decide what comes next.

Polyamory & Non-Monogamy: Get support from a therapist who understands your relationship structure without judgment.

    LISTEN

There's so much power in feeling heard. Without judgment, I listen to what my clients say, how they say it, and why.

    REFLECT

People come to therapy to make sense of their experiences. I pay attention to patterns and themes and interpret them with my clients.

    HEAL

Healing takes time and hard work, but it's possible. I start by helping clients manage and accept life's difficulties.

Getting Started in Therapy

Therapy is a commitment to yourself. It's a chance to figure out what's not working for you or your relationship, whether through shorter-term counseling or deeper, insight-oriented work. Starting therapy doesn't need to be a major leap into the unknown. I'll be there with you. It might feel like a lot sometimes. Things may even get harder before they get better. But we're in this together. The way I practice pays close attention to our relationship. How we affect and relate to each other will inform the work. It can show how you engage in relationships outside of therapy. We'll reflect on what it's like to be in therapy together. Don't worry, I'm no blank slate!
